Unbane has launched its Autodesk Forma integration, allowing construction crews to submit daily field reports through phone calls that are converted into structured records in Forma Build. No price, contract terms, customer count or revenue associated with the integration was disclosed, but the release is an enterprise workflow bet on removing the app and data-entry burden that can stall field-software adoption.

The product is listed in Autodesk’s partner directory as an integration for Forma Build, the project-delivery product within Autodesk Forma. The core use case is mundane but operationally important: foremen or superintendents make or receive an end-of-shift call, report completed work, crew counts and hours, issues and the next-day lookahead, then receive a summary for review. The resulting information is routed into Autodesk workflows rather than remaining in a call transcript.

How does the Unbane Autodesk Forma integration work?

Autodesk’s marketplace listing says the system can schedule calls, structure a caller’s responses, validate the reported data against the project and write completed entries to daily logs, issues and other configured workflows. It lists support for daily logs, weekly lookaheads, field observations and QA/QC forms. Autodesk’s partner page also describes safety and quality reporting, though workflow availability depends on how a customer configures the deployment.

The voice field-reporting integration for Forma Build uses Autodesk’s three-legged OAuth authorization flow to read form templates and write completed entries, according to the marketplace listing. The listing says it uses two-legged authentication for company-level identification and characterizes Unbane as compatible with Forma, Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360. Forma Build is the specifically identified integrated product in Autodesk’s directory.

That structure addresses a familiar construction-software problem: an organization may standardize on a cloud system of record while the people nearest the work face a poor incentive to stop and complete forms. A phone-first layer may reduce that adoption friction, but it also makes the quality of the AI’s extraction, prompts and routing consequential. Teams evaluating such automation need tests based on their actual reports and correction process, not a generic capability claim, as outlined in this guide to AI model evaluation.

What results did Turner Construction report?

Unbane said Turner Construction used the system at a $1 billion hyperscale data-center campus and reached 95% field-reporting compliance in fewer than four weeks. The company also reported that daily reporting fell from 30 to 45 minutes to less than two minutes per foreman, while superintendent review time declined from 60 minutes to five minutes a day.

Kevin Wanner, Turner’s senior manager of Virtual Design and Construction, said the contractor is also rolling out Unbane for safety observations. The reported results offer an early signal that familiar voice interaction can help with construction-tech adoption, but the announcement provides no methodology, deployment scale, pricing or comparative data behind those figures.

James Cook, Autodesk’s director of industry and technology partnerships, said the integration is intended to make it easier for project teams to capture daily activity in Forma as their system of record. For Autodesk customers, the practical question is whether speech-generated records can fit existing approval and documentation controls without creating a new review bottleneck.
