Lovable acquires Nalvin, the Swedish AI agent startup team, as the Stockholm company uses small acquisitions to add technical founders while it pushes for growth in AI coding tools. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the companies did not disclose whether Nalvin’s product, customers or investors are part of the transaction.

Nalvin, based in Stockholm, built an AI agent platform for automating repetitive business work. The company was founded by Pontus Gifvas, Fredrik Stockman and Pascal Chatterjee. It was founded in 2023 under the name Version Lens and raised €1.5 million in pre-seed funding in 2024 from People Ventures, Curiosity and Pitchdrive.

The transaction appears to be primarily about hiring the founding team rather than buying a scaled operating business. In venture terms, that makes it look like an acquihire, a deal structure in which the buyer’s main asset is the people joining the company.

Why did Lovable acquire Nalvin?

Lovable CEO and co-founder Anton Osika framed the deal as part of a broader effort to bring founder-led technical teams into the company. Osika said he was “very excited” to have Nalvin’s founders join, and said Lovable had already brought in four teams of technical founders since it started.

Osika said founders tend to bring an understanding of standards, pace and company culture from day one. That positioning gives the deal a clear hiring rationale: Lovable wants teams that can ship inside its product organization without the ramp-up associated with conventional recruiting.

Nalvin said it started with the goal of helping companies apply AI to the way their operations already work, and said joining Lovable would let the team continue that work at a larger scale. Neither company provided specifics on what Nalvin’s founders will build at Lovable or whether its AI agent work will become part of Lovable’s product roadmap.

How this fits Lovable’s acquisition push

Lovable is part of the fast-growing “vibe coding” segment, where software creation is increasingly mediated by AI systems rather than manual coding alone. Its rivals include Replit and Cursor, along with coding products from the major AI labs.

The company has been open about looking for startups and teams to join it. Osika previously posted on X that Lovable wanted more strong teams and startups to come aboard. Lovable also acquired cloud infrastructure provider Molnett in November last year.

The Nalvin deal comes as Lovable is reported to be raising new capital at a sharply higher valuation. The company was last valued at $6.6 billion and is reportedly in talks to raise $300 million at a $13.2 billion valuation, which would double its valuation if completed.

For Lovable, the acquisition signals a continued preference for buying concentrated technical teams rather than only competing for individual engineers in the market. For Nalvin’s backers, the economics remain unclear because no acquisition price or consideration was disclosed.
