CuspAI's $450M raise, backed by Jeff Bezos and Sovereign AI, was the largest disclosed deal in a European tech funding week that Tech.eu said included more than 50 transactions worth more than €1 billion. The week also brought a €50M Resist.UA fund launch for Ukrainian defence tech and a UK government shake-up in which DSIT was axed while the AI minister was set to attend cabinet.

The figures point to another active week for European startup financing, though the available details vary sharply by deal. Tech.eu listed round sizes and some backers for the headline financings, but did not provide valuations for all companies or terms for the investor fund announcements.

What were the biggest European tech funding deals this week?

The largest named round was CuspAI's $450M financing, with Jeff Bezos and Sovereign AI identified by Tech.eu as backers. No valuation was cited for CuspAI in the roundup.

Germany's Augustus followed with a $180M Series B, according to Finextra. Humanoid, described by Tech.eu as a robotics startup, raised a $152M Series A at a $1.35B valuation. Together, those three rounds accounted for $782M in disclosed funding, before including the rest of the week's more than 50 deals.

Smaller rounds on Tech.eu's watch list included Scape, a Y Combinator startup that emerged from stealth with $3.2M to work on email; Ossprey, which raised $2.65M for software supply chain security; PageMind, which raised €1.2M for e-commerce product discovery AI; and goNEON Agentic Systems, which secured €160,000 for AI-powered infrastructure planning. Iceland's Sowilo also raised a pre-seed round for an AI-powered fashion product intelligence platform, though the amount was not disclosed in the roundup.

Defence tech funds remained active

Investor activity centered heavily on defence technology. Tech.eu reported that Airbus anchored a €500M European defence tech fund, with E2D making its first investment in Alta Ares. Resist.UA also launched a €50M European fund aimed at scaling Ukrainian defence tech that has been tested in battlefield conditions.

EHE Ventures opened a second cohort for a £15M fund backing AI-native companies, according to UKTN. The announcement adds to the week's AI-heavy deal flow, but the roundup did not give deployment targets, ownership expectations or time horizons for the fund.

M&A and government moves

The week's disclosed acquisitions included Einride's $38M purchase of electric vehicle charging startup Flipturn, reported by Webrazzi. ETG acquired Lightning Reach as part of its govtech portfolio expansion, while SINGU bought QRmaint to expand in industrial maintenance, according to EU Startups News. BusinessCloud reported an $87M deal tied to a global move for the UK's Secaro.

Outside financings and acquisitions, Tech.eu listed several policy and corporate developments. The UK's AI minister is set to attend cabinet as DSIT is axed. Revolut confirmed a new secondary share sale at a reported $115B valuation. A Voodin consortium secured a €48M EU grant to build what Tech.eu described as Spain's first automated wooden blade factory.

AI was present across several recommended company stories as well, including Filmustage's pre-production focus, Google Cloud and NVIDIA's work with microagi, and kausable's €12M raise. The week's pattern is familiar for European tech: capital is still moving into AI and defence, while disclosed terms remain uneven across rounds, funds and secondary sales.
