Ahead Health funding has reached $10 million in a new round led by 3VC and RTP Global, giving the Zurich preventive health startup capital to launch in Germany and the Netherlands. The company said people in Munich can now book check-ups, while a Netherlands waitlist is open before a planned August launch.
The round follows a $6 million seed financing seven months earlier, also led by RTP Global. Ahead Health has now raised about $16 million across two rounds in less than a year. The company did not disclose its valuation, revenue, headcount, or the round’s structure.
The financing puts Ahead Health into a more crowded and better-funded preventive care category, where startups are selling earlier detection through blood biomarkers, imaging, longitudinal records, and AI-assisted review. Sweden’s Neko Health, co-founded by Spotify’s Daniel Ek, closed a $700 million Series C in July and increased its valuation from $1.8 billion to nearly $7 billion in 18 months, according to Tech Funding News.
What does Ahead Health do?
Ahead Health combines blood testing, whole-body MRI, and an AI platform that organizes a member’s medical history into a doctor-reviewed check-up. The company says the service is intended to track health data over time, rather than deliver a single snapshot, so clinicians can spot material changes earlier.
The initial Germany and Netherlands rollout will start with blood tests covering metabolic health, inflammation markers, organ function, and cardiovascular risk. Imaging is expected to follow later. Ahead Health’s pitch is that a person without symptoms could receive an earlier warning signal, followed by a doctor-reviewed plan, before a standard annual exam would typically identify a problem.
The company’s AI positioning remains broad. Ahead Health says the platform consolidates medical history and supports doctor-reviewed assessments, but it has not disclosed performance data, regulatory detail, or clinical outcome metrics in the information released about the funding.
Why is Ahead Health expanding through partners?
Ahead Health is entering new markets through existing radiology centers and doctors rather than building its own clinic footprint. Before the Germany and Netherlands expansion, the company built a network of more than 20 partner centers across Switzerland.
That model may keep upfront costs lower than clinic-heavy competitors, although it also means execution depends on third-party medical infrastructure. For a cross-border health company, partner quality, local compliance, and consistency of service will matter as much as the software layer.
Founder and CEO Nick Lenten started Ahead Health in 2024. Before that, he spent 16 years at Coolblue, where he was the first employee and later served as chief technology officer and chief marketing officer. He also held product leadership roles at Google and was chief customer officer at Suitsupply.
3VC partner Peter Lasinger said the Vienna-based fund backed the company because of its technical approach and its goal of changing healthcare toward prevention. 3VC focuses on the DACH region, making the Germany launch a logical fit for its venture capital strategy.
Who else is competing in preventive health?
The preventive health field includes well-capitalized and geographically diverse rivals. Tech Funding News reported that Paris-based Lucis raised $20 million in Series A funding, UK-based Emerald launched with £625,000, and US whole-body MRI provider Prenuvo has raised $192 million and generates about $250 million in annual revenue. Function Health reached a $2.5 billion valuation after raising $298 million, while Superpower raised $30 million in Series A funding.
The broader longevity and preventive health clinic market was valued at $6.02 billion in 2026 and is forecast to reach $9.55 billion by 2030, according to Research and Markets. Ahead Health’s next test is whether a partner-led model can scale across Europe fast enough while better-funded, more integrated competitors push into the same demand for earlier detection.
